Hey, Mouseketeers! [community profile] junetide 2011 posting has finished! I don't know about you guys, but that was the best winter solstice EVER.

If I have not posted your gift, contact me ASAP. Something has gone horribly wrong if I haven't posted them all.

I am planning on posting the reveals/index on the weekend.

If you want me to fix any typos/formatting issues, change/add genre tags, switch between [anonymous] and [to be revealed], send me a signed version of your art, or add anything to your notes then contact me. :)

We have had 44 gifts! Either look back through the community or use the tags to see them. If you see/read a gift you like, I highly recommend that you comment to let the creator know.

I want to thank everyone who thought this exchange was a good idea, everyone who participated and pinch-hitted, everyone who offered to help, and everyone who has been enthusiastic.

I know there were some bumps here and there -- thanks for putting up with those! Hopefully Junetide 2012 will be smoother sailing. I have some notes for next year, but if you have any thoughts for 2012, please let me know! Was there something about how this was organised that you hated and think should change? Was there anything that was really confusing? Or was there anything that you think worked really well and should stay the same?

♥ Thanks again! Please enjoy all the lovely gifts! ♥

Title: A rose by any other name
Gift for: [personal profile] wojelah
By: [anonymous]
Gift type: fiction, ~ 2400 words
Genre: modern, slightly supernatural
Rating: PG
Warnings: implied violence, weirdness
Summary: lost and traveling down a deserted road, a girl wanders with nothing but an old book and fragments of memory to try to piece together how she got there.
Giftcreator's notes: The prompt was: “Something that starts with a person walking down a road, carrying a book.” This story started out being one thing, and ended up something completely different… Everything in the story is implied, with an embarrassing use of wordplay and puns. The actual story is hidden in there, though, if you can tease out the meaning (I hope!).

By: [personal profile] fangirlism
Gift type: Fiction, 1631 words
Genre: Romance

Warnings: n/a
Summary: Alaina gets more than she bargained for
Giftcreator's notes: Prompt: A couple is set up to get married on a reality TV show - do they get along? Will it work? What disasters happen in the lead up to the wedding? I'm sorry I didn't get too much into hijinks between meeting and marriage in the prompt, because the way I set up the show premise didn't allow for that.

Genre: fantasy
Rating: PG
Warnings: references to death, grief
Summary: The sun plague is killing the world's magical creatures. Can the humans help them at all, and how will they cope?
Giftcreator's notes: I hope you like it! I think I was too ambitious, and didn't get to write all of the plot threads I wanted to.
(For the prompt Instead of manifesting differently in different cultures, magical power and its effects manifest differently based on the landscape someone was raised or trained in. Given this setting, something about cooperation between magic users from different places. )

Title: Not a Spy Story
Gift for: [personal profile] smeddley
By: [personal profile] elf
Gift type: Fiction, ~6500 words
Genre: Adventure Drama
Rating: PG
Warnings: None
Summary: Hank Jefferson, a.k.a. Enrique el Jefe, was an undercover agent in Nicaragua in the 80’s. Over twenty-five years later, Nazis are setting up camp, and the agency wants his help again. The problem? Hank is not a spy. Hank is a former spy, and he wished he could convince everyone else of that.
Giftcreator's notes: This is not the story I intended to write, which had more explosions and possibly some aliens. This has no aliens. It is also very much later than it was intended to be done, and plays rather fast and loose with the prompt. Many thanks to [personal profile] dharma_slut for the last-minute hand-holding; any errors that remain are entirely my fault.

Title: Owls of Mages
Gift for: [personal profile] wojelah
By: [personal profile] milkbar
Gift type: Fiction, aprox. 4100 words
Genre: Fantasy
Rating: PG, I guess? There’s only a little swearing.
Warnings: none
Summary: Owls are like multi-sensorial, inter-dimensional telephones for mages, and a wizard Prince wants to adopt human kids.
Giftcreator's notes: Hi, Wojelah! I tried to mash up a little bit of the prompts you provided, so it has connections to: “Something about family - about the merging of the family you're born with and the one you make yourself and trying to bring the pieces together”; “Something about a parliament of owls, and what happens afterward”; and “Something that starts with a person walking down a road, carrying a book”. I don’t know if you’ll like it, it’s really fantasy-esque, but I tried. Really, I really tried hard to make something decent. I’m also drawing a little something that goes with it, but probably won’t be finished on time, so… I hope you like what I wrote!!
